I used the My Maps service from Google to create a list of everywhere I've traveled in my life. It's really cool for me to visualize all the different places on Earth that I've seen and how far I've already gone. I plan to continue updating the map in the future so years from now I can see all the destinations I've marked off in my life book. The link is on the right side of the home page of the blog under "Useful Links."
Things have been exciting here. For the past 5 days the sun has been shining and the clouds are mostly gone for now. During the weekend my host mother's mother (host grandmother?) came to stay with us. We visited a Tierheim (Animal Shelter) because she wanted to get a new dog. She had pre-arranged to adopt Grace, who stayed with us for the weekend as well. Grace was very docile at first, but quickly warmed up to us and was always the sweetest, despite her background of abuse.
My school life has gotten very hectic, not because I am having difficulty, but because of the unexpected classes that drop out when teachers can't come into the school that day. The clear advantage is that I've had free time to sit on the terrace in the sun, pick apples from the tree in our yard, skype with my siblings for the first time, and do some more walking around little Herkenrath.
