Herkenrath Week 1

I can say I've settled in nicely here and I am finding with the beginnings of a routine. I haven't worked out my school schedule yet, but that is something that'll be dealt with soon enough. On Thursday I went with my host brother and host mother to see a prospective gymnastics gym that I can train at. The coach there says that because this is more than a hobby for me that if I want to I can also train at the Olympic Center with some serious gymnasts. After that we drove to the house where my Community Representative lives. She works with PI to make sure I'm not having any problems which is a great service to have at hand. Friday, I got the chance to video chat with Coach Williams, my American German teacher during one of his German classes. It was cool to share my experience with some people I know and here about some new things going on in Rockwall. It's good to know I've got support back home and people are interested to hear from me. It was a good reminder of who I'm representing here as an American high school student. The weather in the past few days has been dreary which is a disappointment on my first weekend, but I managed to get a good walk around Herkenrath in before the heavy rains came in.
