I am excited to say this is my last day in Hedersleben. This month of classes has been a great refresher into German language and taught me how to talk about terror attacks, the upcoming elections, poverty in Germany, and Brexit all in a language I started truly speaking 4 weeks ago. I appreciate all the work and effort of PI and FLAG in ensuring that this experience is smooth and enjoyable at every corner. I can say confidently, without a shred of doubt in my mind, that I will 100% be frightened out of my mind. Not only do I have to create a relationship with my new host family who have never met me, I have do it eloquently in another language. Another additional problem is that I won't have any more Americans down the hall or in the yard to go talk to when I need to explain a shared experience. On Monday (2 days from now) I have my first day of German school and I have no clue what classes I'll be taking or even know a schedule. This dangerous mix of fear, excitement, and adrenaline is only going bring a lack of sleep that I'll have to make up on the train. Now it's time to find out if I'm truly ready to be a full exchange student and stay afloat in the Deep End of Germany.
