Tomorrow morning I fly to New Jersey and will stay there until the 6th when we officially ship out to Germany. My last week-and-a-half has been extremely busy and at some points stressful. In the time leading up to my departure I've taken a driver's test, sat in the DPS to get a driver's license, gotten my braces taken off (finally), and unenrolled from Rockwall High School. A lot has been changing, but I haven't had time to breathe because the packing came immediately after. Despite being caught in all of my responsibilities, I've had time to see plenty of people before I go. At the cabin, we had a big going-away for my family with traditional German food and decorations aplenty. My aunt and cousins who weren't able to come that day drove up to my house to come see me one more time, and give me their handmade letters they made for me. Finally, I drove myself to the high school to visit the Gymnastics team and coach during the summer camp practice. My final stop in Rockwall was for some tea and a game of Headbandz before driving myself back home to do final prep and see family.
This is my final evening and I still feel nothing but anticipation and excitement. I've been asked too many times "Are you afraid?" and always answer no because I know I'll be taken care of by FLAG and PI who have been running the program for many years and are held to government standards in order to be a part of the CBYX program. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the inability to sleep tonight.

I've changed my mind. No, you can't go to Germany. Are you crazy?!
